The genetic and trait combinations we are selling today were chosen not only based on yield potential, but also for their performance under stress conditions. At the end of the day, consistent performance under a range of conditions will deliver increased profit on the farm.

Respect the Refuge

Respect the Refuge
To help preserve the benefits of seed based insect control trait technologies, an Insect Resistance Management (IRM) plan must be a part of every farmer's production strategy.  IRM plans are required for all farmers who intend to plant any Bt technologies.

When Planting a Refuge
The refuge may be Roundup Ready Corn 2 or conventional corn, can not contain Bt corn technology.
The refuge must be of similar maturity and planted at the same time as the Bt corn.
Mixing refuge and non-refuge seed is not permitted unless otherwise registered.
Refuge fields must be owned or managed by the farmer.

NO Refuge (non Bt) seed is interspersed within the bag.  No separate structured refuge required.
Monsanto technologies with the RIB Complete™ designation contain a blend of 95% traited corn seed and 5% refuge (non Bt) corn seed that farmers can plant across their entire field.  Farmers who use products with the RIB Complete™ designation will no longer need to plant a separate, structured refuge for insect pests on those given fields.
